Abuse
Bishops and Church leaders are instructed to IMMEDIATELY call the church abuse helpline if they become aware of abuse occurring. Abuse helpline number for United States and Canada: 1-801-240-1911
Next Steps:
Invite the abuser and/or person being abused to call Family Services for help.
Once the person has established services and has signed an ROI for their Bishop then Family Services and the Bishop can speak openly about how to work together to support those in need.
Addiction
Addiction is a heavy topic. While personal prayer and scripture study will always help, these alone are not sufficient to help someone in addiction to overcome their problem. Do all you can to help the member seek professional services!
If the member is ready to find a therapist to work on their addiction please call me so I can help connect the member to appropriate counselor referrals.
